The follow up to Read, Gren(e) is Danger Vacuum’s part two to Read’s part one. Crac(kle) fits somewhere in there too. With Gren(e) we find Danger Vacuum continuing to play with a variety of poorly-wired accoutrements. Slightly more melodic perhaps in parts, Gren(e) also makes use of more poorly-wired electronic devises including the Cracklebox (the primary feature of Crac(kle), the Stylophone, pedals, and no-input cyclings of hum.

Recorded at An Offsite Basement, Toledo, Ohio in late winter and early spring 2009 and an Un-named Studio Room, Philadelphia, PA in late summer and early autumn 2009.

• CS058 • 2009 • STREAM • ZIP • ARCHIVE.ORG • I ordered a Cracklebox from Steim in the summer of 2009. A few weeks later (actually several weeks, but it was worth it) I received my Cracklebox in the mail. The Cracklebox is essentially a device witch allows the user to create a series of controlled shorts and mis-wirings using his/her own body as a conduit. Each player will produce a particular performance of the instrument depending on weight, body heat, pressure, recent meals, contact, and sequence of interaction with the instrument. This was the first couple days I played with it.

Recored without edits live to a Fostex digital eight track with a microphone placed extremely close to the instrument. Track five is an accidental mix of four takes.
