In the Summer of 2008, the Cornslaw Industries Board of Directors met to decide to kill off Barry under natural circumstances. This would not be a rock and roll suicide, this was not a hit. No, being the all-powerful body they were (and continue to be) the Board decided a glorious accident would be occurring that would put to death Barry and The Grossly Misjudged Collective Works of Barry’s Listening. Something like skydiving, but not skydiving. “Whatever, work it out,” they unanimously exclaimed.
As a tribute, the next album would be completed and magically beamed to several members of the Cornslaw Industries family in hopes of collaborating on the “finishing” the songs. Such collaboration never occurred, and the album–much in keeping with the oeuvre of Cornsalw Industries in general and specifically Barry’s Listening–was left unfinished.
Well, Barry’s now dead, The Grossly Misjudged Collective Works of Barry’s Listening is no more, and this is how Prog sounds. The music was recorded at Pistachio: An Offsite Basement in Toledo, Ohio between 2007 and 2008. All songs by Barry and the gang.
