Weird Al Ruined My Life

T.B.A

about:

As a child of the 1980s, Weird Al was my favorite, but, as an adult of the 21st Century, I am beginning to think that he ruined my life.
Most of the time, I thank him for it. Other times I curse him when "I Want a New Drug" or "Like a Virgin" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit" comes on the radio.
This compilation is a proposed tribute to the man, the music, the mustache, the accordion, and the protection of parody, tribute, and transparent influence.
Are you interested in contributing a song to the tribute?
All songs are open for consideration for inclusion. We are currently accepting contributors interested in covering either one of Al's originals or a parodized hits.
Please contact us to let us know you are interested.
In a good faith effort, all tracks and contributors will be listed above on a first-come-first-serve basis upon an initial informal agreement. Following, tracks should be sent to us in a timely manner so as to allow for a mid-to-late summer release. Duplicate songs will be considered. Artistic liberties and interpretations are welcome, but please do not propose your own "Weird Al-type" parody of another song. Only Weird Al songs.
tech: This project will be licensed under a creative commons license.
All music is to be "given away" for free consumption, distribution, and further derivation.
Recordings remain in the ownership of the contributors.
Songs remain in the ownership of their respective authors.
This compilation is meant as a tribute to both Weird Al and the artists he parodied.
It is not a commercial venture and is designed without malicious intent.
Music should be sent to us as a "higher quality" audio file either in the form of a 192+ MP3, WAV, AIFF, AAC, etc. Please no WMA files.
Contributors should also include a short bio for themselves/band/project, an image for their project, a link for a "web home," and two statements:
1) "Why we chose this song" and
2) "My fondest childhood memory of Weird Al."
Please e-mail with any questions: cornslaw at gmail dot com.

Rumored to be the first tribute album that predates the object of its tribute.
